3 things to do immediately after a break up
A break up sucks.
Once the dust has settled, here’s what you should do:
Embrace your emotions and feelings
Heartbreak, pain, anxiety, tears (loads of), anger, blame, guilt, panic. Everybody has gone through it. And every time it happens, the whole world seems to collapse over your head.
There is little one could say to make it easier. You have to go through this phase, embrace all your feelings and emotions, let everything out, yell, scream, cry, stay at home, go out, whatever helps you to get through it.
It is important to go through this phase fully aware of it, not avoiding feelings. You are allowed to feel whatever you are feeling during this period.
Reflect on what happened
After the pain has faded, sit down, have a cup of tea, take pen and paper and start reflecting on your past relationship.
You will write down all the good things, all the bad things and everything in between. Try to observe it without emotions and look at the mere facts. What did happen, why did it happen. What were you missing in that relationship. How did you treat your ex and how did they treat you. What were the factors that led eventually to the break up.
