Goals vs Desires vs Intentions
As I grow in awareness and consciousness, I start to question more and more everything that I once believed in. Everything that I once considered to be normal or logical seems to be falling apart under this new consciousness.
For a long time, I thought that everybody should have to have a goal to achieve something in life. Being in my heart space, I now understand the underlying principles behind goals, desires and intentions and I’d like to share them with you:
Goals
When you set goals, you are mainly acting from your Mind Space, the logical side. Goals are intended to be reached, achieved, checked off of our list.
What happens when we set goals (from our mind space) is that we push and insist on these goals. We set timelines that have to be met. We set ourselves under a lot of pressure because these goals need to be achieved.
In the business world, managers set goals for their employees to push them, to get the best results out of them for their money (salary).
This idea is rooted in separation, where everyone is on their own and against each other. Goals are meant to met, goals are meant to beat the competition.
When I set goals in my past, I always had SMART goals (until recently I changed that to SUPER intentions). I made lists of things I wanted to achieve by time X. I put them down in my diary, in my daily planner, in my app, software, and so on. And I noticed about myself that every time I came up with a new goal, my stomach churned. It felt like a hit in the solar plexus. I so desperately wanted to achieve these goals. Well, some goals I achieved, even in time. But even when I missed the deadline, I felt bad. Even worse so when I did not achieve a goal at all.
Goals are rooted in your low frequencies and in your mind.
You are pushing and insisting to achieve these goals.
And you are going against your heart and the natural flow of things.
Sure, you can be successful, achieving your goals, make lots of money. But the process is not enjoyable, tough, hard and long.
Desires
When I realised that goals only got me that far, I wondered about the next step. What’s better than setting goals?
I focused within myself and as I grew in awareness and went more and more into my heart space, I understood the power of desire.
A desire is something very emotional, deeply connected to the heart. It is not about timelines, or logical goals anymore. It is more about how you feel when this or that comes into your life.
All of that sounds too good to be true.
However, what I realised very soon afterwards was that a desire is combination of the mind space and the heart space.
Yes, a desire is emotions, but also there is always a sense of „I want this so badly“ or „I don’t have it but I want it“. And these low frequencies can be enough to keep your desires always in the Want phase.
A desire can come true if taken the right actions, of course. But you will see that the way to your desires is filled with obstacles.
Intentions
Finally, after talking to my mentors and meditating for a long time, I saw a very clear picture of what we should do if there is something we want to have in our life.
I let go of goals and desires (most of the time), and found something within my heart space that was so beautiful: Intention
An intention lives in your heart space. No logic or mind or ego is involved in manifesting your intentions, because we are now talking about pure emotions. Logic made room for emotions.
By having an intention, we go very deep into our heart space and listen to what it is that we want to manifest in our life. Yes, thoughts about desires or goals might come up, but these can easily be turned into intentions by one simple exercise:
Let go of expectations and the outcome.
When you let go of the outcome, you make room for your heart space to manifest everything in a magnificent way.
We want something very specific (goal / desire), failing to realise that there are bigger and better things available that we don’t even know.
So by setting an intention that is deeply connected with your heart and your emotions, and without any attachments to the outcome, you are ready to receive everything magnificent into your life.
Intentions are always and only emotions. There are no timelines, no specific numbers, and no attachment to outcomes.
If you want to travel the world, make it your intention. Do not think about how. Just let go of the how.
Yes, you should take actions, of course. Specific actions that add to your intention. But you do not push results, neither do you insist on this or that having to happen by day X.
Have a Rich Life.
